Sarsala bay

 Sarsala bay

It is 12 km from the Dalaman city centre, and it is a protected and calm bay. Sarsala bay is one of the stops for cruising boats and yachts. When they set off their journey, they stop by this bay. The pine trees and olive trees meet the sea here. There is almost no concrete construction in this bay. The quality of water and the beach is very high. The combination of the charming tones of green and blue colours is truly fascinating.

Historical background of Sarsala Bay is very interesting. Reportedly, Khedivi Abbas Pasha, the Egyptian Governor then, arrived in Sarsala Bay in 1905. To live in his farm in Dalaman, he sailed from Egypt to Sarsala Bay his ship, called Nimetullah and disembarked here. At the behest of of this Pasha, a pier and a storage building were built in Sarsala bay. In addition,  a road from the bay to Cafer yöresi (the entrance of Village Kapukargin) was built and the connection between the farm and Sarsala Bay was successfully completed.

There are cafeteria, fitting rooms, showers and volleyball field in the facility that is run by the Mugla Dalaman municipality’s company DABEL A.Ş. Should you prefer land transport, it is possible to get Sarsala Bay watching the magnificent view of Lake Kocagöl.
