1 garlic clove, chopped
1, 5 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp lime juice
2 tbsp light soy sauce
Handful of beansprouts
1 red chili, deseeded and finely sliced
Large handful of mint leaves
1 little Gem lettuce
2 x 150 gram sirloin or rump steaks
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
First make the dressing. Chop the garlic clove and in a bowl, whisk with the brown sugar, lime juice and soy sauce. Set aside.
Halve and deseed a cucumber, cut into sticks and put into a bowl. Deseeded and finely slice the chili and add to the bowl with bean sprouts, mint leaves and the torp up leaves of the lettuce. Toss well and divide between two plates.
Heat a griddle, frying pan or grill. Season the steaks and cook them for 2-5 minutes on each side, depending on how well done you like them.
Place the steaks on a board and cut into slices. Divide between the plates and drizzle with the dressing. Your enjoy meal!
