Dalaman, a lovely district of Mugla Province, first became a municipality in 1967, then a district in 1983.
Dalaman is located on a deltaic plain, geographically formed by the borderline between the Mediterranean Region and the Aegean Region. This district is named after this river.
It is on the periphery of the Western Mediterranean Region, which is approximately between the latitudes 28-52 and latitudes 36-44. The altitude above the sea level is almost 8 metres. The distance between the city centre and coastline is 9 km. The area of the municipality is quite wide, and its width is 27 km air distance from north to south and 17 km air distance from east to west. The costline with many beautiful bays is 117 km.
In the city, there is an airport which is available to international air traffic. Direct international flights to Dalaman airport is a real asset in this sense, because it makes everything easier and faster. Within the borders of the city, there is Dalaman Agricultural Enterprise, which is affiliated to the General Directore of Agricultural Enterprises.
