This method is used at the start of a sauce recipe. The sauce is thickened by adding the liquid ingredients to a roux, i.e., a mixture of flour and fat. To make a roux suitable for 400 ml of sauce:
Basic roux ingredients;
- 2 tbs butter
- 2 tbs flour
Basic roux recipe;
Melt the butter slowly in a saucepan. Add the flour and stir.
Let them sizzle together a little.
Pour in the sauce little by little, stirring all the time. Cook the sauce for another 3-5 minutes. Enjoy your meal!
